The report

We left our hotel in Moffat at 5 to 9 which was later than we would have liked. The first 10k was uphill along the A701. It was by far the best road we’ve ridden along so far on this trip and possibly ever. The surface was incredible and the views were stunning. We also saw very few cars. Our first stop of the day was for coffee in Biggar after 45k and 2 and a half hours. The next section of our journey was supposed to be 50k to Queensferry but the road we were supposed to be taking out of Biggar was closed so we had to take a slightly longer route. It was about 100k total distance by the time we reached Queensferry and we had been riding for about 5 hours and 20 minutes. We stopped briefly for ice cream and fries and then did the last 33k of our ride. We crossed over a huge suspension bridge shortly after our stop then had some climbing to Kinross.

Tomorrow is a slightly longer day than today with lots of climbing. To get updates on our trip make sure you subscribe to this blog and follow me on twitter @firstplacetri
